On November 22nd, The Average Joe's made a great comeback in dodgeball, defeating the Ball Busters in the NBTHS gym.
Asian Persuasion dominated teams like 4 Way, Kill Busters, and Top Sharks. Mamadou Ndaw threw a devastating hit at one of the members of 4 Way. Unfortunately, Asian Persuasion did not make it all the way through the bracket. When Ruhan Sriram was asked about the loss, he stated, "We win our games, but we have some diversity. The way we handle it is great, and that fuels us to win."
The Ball Busters was another team that dominated others. The team had two football players, Zach Cipot and Brian Gomez, who were quick and ready for any ball that came their way. Although the team made it to the finals, they ended up taking the loss. When Zach Cipot was asked about the intense game, he said, "It was very intense, but we just gotta stay locked in. Stuff happens, and we just have to stay poised and composed. It’s all about winning."
The Average Joe's won the dodgeball tournament with only one player left on the team. The crowd cheered for Kevin Vallese as he stood his ground for his eliminated teammates. When Zach Cipot was eliminated, everyone rose from the bleachers and ran down to celebrate the victory with Kevin and his teammates. When Kevin was asked about his victory, he said, "It feels great to win, especially with my team supporting me all the way."
Every team put in effort to win the tournament, but The Average Joe's came out on top. The crowd initially thought the Ball Busters would win due to their quickness, reflexes, and hard work. However, one person changed everyone’s belief, and that was Kevin Vallese. Congratulations to The Average Joe's for winning the NBTHS Dodgeball Tournament!
