Spicy or Crispy? Dave’s vs. Cane’s

Dave’s Hot Chicken recently opened in East Brunswick, just a quick 15-20 minute drive from North Brunswick Township High School, bringing some heat to the area with their flavorful, fiery chicken.

I tried their slider, and the chicken was juicy, crispy, and had a spicy kick that really stood out. They even gave me extra Dave’s sauce for free, which I appreciated as it added extra flavor. While Dave’s does a great job with its spice level, I still prefer Cane’s when it comes to an overall meal experience.

Cane’s chicken has a nice crunch and is perfectly seasoned, with a nice kick from their sauce that goes perfectly with the tenders. Plus, Cane’s Texas toast is a big win as it’s buttery, fluffy, and a perfect side to go with the chicken and fries. I truly enjoy the Texas toast dipped in Cane's sauce, so I always order extra toast. Dave’s, on the other hand, serves regular white bread, which doesn’t quite hit the same.

If you’re a fan of spicy food, Dave’s Hot Chicken is definitely worth a try. However, if you’re after a more complete meal with all the right sides and a drink included, Cane’s is the better choice.
