Salutatorian: Kushaan Jain

Kushaan Jain, Salutatorian of the class of 2022 is a great example of persistence and hard work paying off. Attending Rutgers University in the fall, Jain will further his education and endeavor to enjoy the environment. A balance is meant to be enjoyed between work and play. His time here at NBTHS has demonstrated that.

What advice would you give to younger students?

Trust your mental, don’t get caught up in stupid stuff, and work hard but not so hard you stop enjoying yourself.

If you could give one piece of advice to yourself as a freshman, what would it be?

You don’t know everything , only fools claim to know everything.

Who inspired, encouraged, or guided you throughout your journey at NBTHS?

My parents

What are your goals during and after college?

During college, my biggest goal is to complete impactful research concerning energy, economics, and the environment. I also hope to develop as a person. After college, I think it’d be cool to work for Spotify.

What college are you planning to attend and what will be your major?

Economics and Finance at Rutgers University.

What inspired you to want this honor of Salutatorian in the school?

I didn’t really work toward becoming Salutatorian. It just came as a result of me sticking to my studies pretty well. I do appreciate giving a speech though.

Do you regret NOT doing anything in life so far?

I regret not sticking to my piano lessons. I wish I could play it.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Working in NYC and hiking the Adirondacks. I hope in 10 years I will continue to maintain a pristine balance of life, family and “work.”

What was your favorite memory of your time at NBTHS?

My favorite memory is undoubtedly walking in the hallways and listening to music.
